Launched in 2018, the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre brings together researchers in heritage studies from across the University of Cambridge. The Centre acts as focus for the sharing and advancement of heritage research within the University. It also organises a range of seminars, lectures and workshops for academics and professionals working in the field of Heritage Studies.

Tourism material consistently refers to the longhouses of Borneo as places of tradition. They routinely stress the special character of the houses and their remoteness (an 'away from modern life' trope). But what are Bornean longhouses? Following a recent stay on the island, Prof Marie Louise Stig Sørensen reflects on the longhouse as heritage and explores the interweaving of the tangible and intangible dimensions at play and the roles of value and tradition in longhouse membership in contemporary society.
